Hunter Hanging out with Auntie Mandy

More pictures of Hunter hanging out with his aunts for the week! Today he is with nana Julie. I think he is enjoying the attention all week...but I think he misses the kids at daycare too. By the time I have him tomorrow he is going to be pretty bored with me!

Words of wisdom: when spending 14 of 24 hours in a car, get a book on CD! It really makes the time fly!

New Computer

We finally got our new computer. I started setting it up Saturday night. It is much more work to replace a computer then buying your first one. I now have the old computer (which I must say was disgusting after sitting under our desk for 3 years) set up on the bar, and the new one on the desk. I don't have the printer set up yet, but I have the programs loaded and my Itunes moved...which took a long time! I think the new one is going to be great...I just need to spend some time with it...maybe next week!

This week we don't have a sitter (she is on vacation) so we have family watching Hunter most of the week and I have off on Friday. Today he is with my sister-in-law, who also has her 3 kids home. She sent me some pictures of the boys training Hunter to be Jedi...I had to share. His daddy is so proud (see the blog's first entry). As you can see from the picture...I guess cow needs a little lesson in becoming a jedi too! (Cow serves as a bit of courage when we aren't around).

Update on Steph's cousin...she is doing good. She is improving daily. She is really weak and it sounds like a little depressed about not being able to see the baby. But hopefully soon she will be able to enjoy her little guy!

Almost forgot...I still have one team alive in the tournament! GO LSU!!! If they win I may be in the money!!!

That's it for now!

Out of the Woods

Well it appears that Steph's cousin is doing better. A match for a liver transplant was found Sunday/Monday. It was implanted yesterday and the surgery went as well as could be expected. They want to have her sedated without visitors for a couple of days for her to rest, recuperate and heal. I guess they want her to be rested when they tell her everything that she has been through. I guess they don't even know if she will remember that she had the baby. Luckily the baby is doing REALLY well and should be going home within two weeks (probably sooner then his mamma). I hope the best for her and her family, and I send them my prayers! Hopefully she will fully recuperate and will have a long healthy life with that little guy!

As for the other areas of interest...the Big 10 SUCKS! Of course the one Big 10 team that I didn't have winning in my bracket won...Indiana! The Badger game was sad and ugly to watch. Once again I felt like I wasn't watching a Bo Ryan coached team. They didn't seem to play with heart or desire. I give the freshman a lot of credit because they seemed to be in the few that were up to play. Oh well, another season is done. Hopefully next year they can pull it together, keep their grades up and play well! At least there were a lot of other good games to watch this past weekend. Hopefully this weekend is the same.

We FINALLY had another tooth pop through this weekend! I guess that was the reason for the fever. It was an eye tooth and those are suppose to be some of the worst...so hopefully the others are soon to follow! Darn teeth!

That is about it for now! Here's hoping Spring is coming soon!

March Madness

Let the basketball games begin!...and the snow! The tradition of snow for the boys tournament continues! One day in and ALOT of good games and a couple near disasters for my bracket...but safe in the end. I just love this time of the year...it has to be the best time in all sports. Like usual I am cautiously optimistic about the Badgers. I am hoping Bo has something in his bag of tricks to get this team ready for the tournament. And what about UW-M...they looked pretty impressive today, they aren't a Cinderella any more!

In other news...I went to see Failure to Launch...cute girl movie! Although I don't know how it could be bad when it is 1 1/2 hours of watching my Matthew! haaaaa (long sigh)....After the movie I was talking with the girls I went with and we were saying that he and Sarah Jessica Parker have good chemistry. Sometimes in these "happy girlie movies" they just slap two people together that you can't really see together, but that wasn't the case here. The overall thought of the movie was it was a mix between How to Lose a Guy and Hitched. Good flick if you are looking for a feel good!

One other thing weighing on my mind tonight...my sister-in-law Steph is pregnant and her cousin was also pregnant and due a day before Steph (beginning of May)...well her cousin was having some problems with her pregnancy and high blood pressure and she went into the hospital on Sunday throwing up...and she was preclamsic and they took the baby at 32 weeks (8 weeks premature). The good news is that the baby is doing really well (a boy, Marcus) but her cousin did not snap out of it...they took her gullbladder after her c-section but they still couldn't stabilize her. Now her liver and kidneys are not fully functioning either. She is in pretty rough shape and in need of a liver transplant. It is a really hard time for the family...and I can't imagine what they are going through...Steph's cousin is a GREAT person! Very full of life and infectiously happy...it's times like this that I have to hold on to the fact that there is something else out there...so if you believe or not and can spare a prayer...I think Kelly could use it right now! I know I will be saying an extra one or two tonight.

Sorry to end on a such a sad note...Hopefully the weekend will bring good news!

(I thought I would put a picture of Hunter in the snow...makes me smile)

Growing Sick Little Boy

Just a quick note for an update on my life. Last week started out well. Hunter went in for his 15 month check up. 27 lbs 14 oz and 33 inches! Still topping the charts on height...93%...and he didn't gain a whole pound since his 12 month, but he grew 3 inches in the last 3 months! No wonder none of his shoes fit! Then he had to get shots :( But he was a trouper...no tears! (He did better then his mommy...once again). Then Wednesday night he got a bump on his leg from his shot...poor thing...and a little fever. The fever seemed to get worse so Thursday and Friday meant Josh and I stayed home from work to hang out with him. It is so funny when kids are sick...they spike a fever...get a little Tylenol and Motrin in them...and they are off playing basketball again! He finally broke his fever yesterday...hopefully that means the molar will be popping through soon! So it was yet another fast week in the Andrew house. Hunter and I did get out on Saturday morning for a walk to enjoy the beautiful weather and then I did some shopping in Johnson Creek and we had friends over on Sunday. So all in all (minus the 1 1/2 hours of ironing I did) it was a good weekend!

March Madness officially started last night! After the Badgers lost to Indiana in the opening round of the Big Ten tournament, they were blessed with a 9 seed. I don't have very high expectations, but the optimistic part of me is hoping for a miracle :)

Hopefully I can get on a little more often this week! Tonight I am off to see my Matthew in Failure To Launch...I will let you know how beautiful he is...I mean if the movie is good later this week! At least it is a girls night out!

Long Week

It has been a long week around here. I guess I didn't have the time (or ambition) to get a post in this week. It has just been one of those weeks at home and work! Today for instance when nothing really went right at work...things kept coming up...and nothing really got done! That is really frustrating for me! I like to mark things off of my "to do" list...not much of that happened today.

Then to top things off, Hunter is trying to pop some teeth this week, which in turn meant being up at 1:30 AM with him. But I think he is over the hump...no teeth yet (new ones at least) but the diaper rash has subsided and the mood has improved. Actually he has been in a great mood lately at night. Last night he was crazy...I a lot of times take the cushions off of the couches so he can jump and fall on them and just have fun...we do a lot of tackling in our house. Well last night, my brave little soldier thought he would try to fall from the couch to the cushions. Luckily mom was there to soften the landing :) He sure is at a fun stage! Even all the trying times of hard will, frustration and teething, are easily overlooked when he just has fun playing! The other day I was trying to tell him he can't hit Joey (which I do repeatedly and Joey paws at him repeatedly...but he still does it), anyway, I was trying to be firm and he put his hands on my cheeks (on on each check) and leaned forward and kissed me. What a cutie...and me the softy...gave right in and kissed him back.

On other news...Drew won Dancing with the Stars...YEAH!!!! And Sarah was chosen on the Bachelor...also YEAH!!! But a 3 carrot right on a chain??? Are you kidding me??? I hope that clasp is welded shut!!! All in all a good week of TV! Even though I haven't much since Monday night :)

On the Badger front...another L in the away column! I swear sometimes I watch them and they don't even seem like they are a Bo Ryan team! It really disappoints me...and annoys me because it in turn means Josh is yelling at the TV...But like he said last night, it used to be so exciting watching the Badgers...now it is just frustrating. And I would have to agree with him. And I think it is worse because the Packer season was so frustrating too. Oh well we will get on. Hopefully next year everyone on the team can pull a 1.65 GPA! Yep you read that right...that is all they need!

Well as promised here are a couple of cake pictures from last weekend!

Wine, birthdays and cake

Well it was another fun weekend in the Andrew house. Friday night left us with a babysitter and a night out with grownups! It unfortunately ended with my friend and I polishing off a bottle of wine! But it was a good night! In turn Saturday started with a bit of a headache and a little guy who didn't want to sleep past 6 :( But he made it up to my by napping with me for 2 + hours Saturday afternoon! Nothing like shooting a whole day!

Last night we had yet another in a long line of birthday parties...this is the last until April...wow a month break! Hunter is starting to show his toughness and wants to play with the big kids. My niece Syndey isn't really crazy about sharing her favorite cousin RaRa but I think soon she will realize Hunter isn't all that bad (at least I hope). Hunter enjoyed the very messy cake thoroughly! (I will post pictures when I get them loaded from my camera). He was beyond messy, but I think he enjoyed it!

Today is swimming day, we are headed in by my parents hotel to take Hunter swimming for a while. I just bought him a swim jacket so I am curious how it will work. It is amazing how fast a weekend goes! It seems that they go even faster now that we have a child! But I guess the week goes faster now too...so it all evens out!

On another front, we have gone almost a week now with very little to no hitting! We must have figured out something! Thanks for the advice...I think the touch nicely thing has worked well...and as a bonus we have figured out where everyone's nose is...Occasionally eyes! It was a much more enjoyable weekend...now if we could get him to stop changing the channels and turning the TV's off with the remotes! Little stinker can sniff a remote out from anywhere!

Before I forget...Dancing with the Stars finalle is on tonight...GO DREW!!! I really hope he wins so I can see a little more of Nick :) Bachelor finalle is on tomorrow night...and the new apprentice starts...boy it is a good week for TV!

Painting again

Well Josh and I have FINALLY figured out how we want to paint the livingroom/kitchen/hallway. It only took 3 years but we have finally picked out a color scheme...now let's just hope it turns out so we like it! We are going with some very bold colors and painting over the one area we have painted but I am optimistic that it will look good! I will post pictures when it is done...don't hold your breathe...I haven't bought the paint yet!

In other news...I came home today to a clean house!!! YEAH!!! It was wonderful!! I didn't have to pick up a mop...Josh finally gave in to the cleaning lady idea...but then we ran into some logistics problems. But lucky for us, Josh's sister is working nights and just getting on her feet since college so we arranged with her a payment schedule. I can't tell you how great it felt to walk into a clean house!!

On the hitting front, we have had two nights without any hitting and he hasn't been doing it at the sitters, so hopefully we are having some luck in the discipline area! Now if we could get him to eat something besides crackers, pancakes and waffles! I guess I can't ask for everything :)

Well I am taking the night off from the pool, so I am going to veg in front of the tv...too bad there isn't any good reality tv on!

REMINDER: Bucky plays Northwestern tomorrow night after more then a week off! GO BUCKY (now I need to decide if I will be TVoing the game or Dancing with the Stars).

Over and out!

I went to a card club!

Well I have reached another level of feeling old. This past weekend we had some friends call to come down and play cards. We were able to get Josh's sister to come over and babysit, so we went, both of us thinking that we would play some cards and hang out for a while. Well...when we showed up we quickly learned that there was more to it then that! We were substitutes for a card club! And we had 11 rounds of Euchere ahead of us...keep in mind I haven't played IN YEARS!!! But in actuality it was a lot of fun! A bit draining, but we had a good time! But I really think there should be a different name then card club...that makes me feel so old...that is things that my parents and grandparents did! But like I said we had a good time and reminds me that there is another way to hang out and have fun without spending much money!

As for the rest of the weekend...Josh and I needed some sleep on Sunday so we took a "family nap" on Sunday. Josh and I slept for 2 hours...we are hoping Hunter did too :) I know it is probably a bad habit to get into but I just love that cuddle time! Especially with a little boy that doesn't like to sit much!

Now...looking for a little advice...what do you do with a 14 month old that feels the need to hit when he gets frustrated?? It is really wearing on us...and nothing seems to work. Feel free to weigh in with any techniques! Thanks!

The move is off!

Just a short post to let you all know that my parent's move is off. My dad was offered a better/new job at the place where he currently is, and he has decided to stay. While I am bummed that my mom and dad won't be much closer, I am also relieved that I don't have to clean out my room...and Josh is very glad that he doesn't have to find a place for that enormous box that my wedding dress is in! Even though the move isn't happening now, I know they will still end up our way some time in the future, but I guess the time isn't right right now.

As for other late breaking news...Jerry Rice made it to the finals in Dancing with the Stars!!! Yeah for Jerry, what he lacks in dancing skills (which is quite a bit) I guess he has made up for it with PR and personality...I guess this shows that the NFL may actually be superior to Hollywood! I think I may even vote for him next week! At least I don't have to look at Lisa Rhina's lips anymore! Can we say...NO MORE BOTOX! I will update you on other reality highlights next week after the bachelor! The rose ceremony won't be the "most dramatic" ever (because there isn't one) but I am sure there will be lots of "reproductive" drama!

Well it is time to hang out in front of the fire with my hubby...I haven't seen him in 2 nights...I think we need a little cuddle time!

Thought I would share some pictures

Here are a few pictures of my little guy! This is his one year picture and one of all the kids for my parents for Christmas. The one standing in the back is Bryce, next boy is Brady, the girl on the right is Addie and on the left is Sydney, and the little sad boy in front with Hunter is Riley. They're not all smiling, but it was all we could manage! And to thing there will be another one next year!

A couple snowy nights away

Well I had a nice post written last night explaining my day yesterday and my first night away and it erased on me. I guess I don't know all this blog technology yet! All I was trying to do was spell check...and believe you me, you want me to do spell check!!

Anyway, I am currently in LaCrosse and I have my new laptop with me because another building was broken into in our office park, so I can no longer keep it at work. I am here for a conference and got to drive up last night while listening to the badger game...YEAH!!! Way to go Badgers!!!! They had a BIG win against THE Ohio State last night!! It was a big game by Ray Ray and an ever impressive performance by Tucker! They now have some much deserved rest before the 4 final games of the conference. Go Bucky!!

I am enjoying my time away, and certainly enjoy the whirlpool tub in my room, but I sure miss my little and big guys!! They are having a snow day today and enjoying a little bonding time! I can't wait to see them tomorrow!

Well maybe I will weigh in a little more again later...but for now I need a little R & R.

Mouseless Computer

Well here I am trying to use my computer without a mouse. Needless to say it has not been a good week for me and computers! Friday I worked from home all morning, while using our home computer. Everything worked fine and I shut everything down before we left for the weekend...I get home last night and try to log in to finish up a little work, and the mouse doesn't work. (I just installed a new wireless mouse before Christmas). So I change the frequency, thinking maybe something interfered with it...Still no luck...So I unplugged and rebooted...Still no luck...Then I started nosing around in the properties...It says there is no device for the mouse. So I look, the software is still loaded...I don't know but I was too tired to figure it out, so I thought I would just reinstall...Problem...Can't find the install disc...Looks like it might have gotten thrown out...Maybe by my little guy who likes to "help". So here I am 2 nights and no mouse...And my computer is continuing to act funny! Looks like we need a new one. This one is 4 years old!

On a much greater note, we went to Lambeau to watch the Badger Hockey game this weekend. It was great! I would highly recommend an event of this nature whenever available! The weather was beautiful and we didn't even really get cold. By far one of the coolest hockey games I have been to (which is saying a lot because I am not the biggest hockey fan!)

The rest of the weekend was good to. We stayed in Shawano and Hunter even got out on the lake a little in his snow suit! It was too bad we didn't have a sled. I will post pictures when I have a mouse again! He loved the snow, but got a little sick of falling and wasn't quite sure how to get back up. It also tired him out a ton! It is amazing what 1/2 hour will do outside to a 1 year old...gotta love it!

Another big week in Badger hoops! Bucky takes on Ohio State at home on Wednesday...Go Bucky!!! They need this win if they want to stay in the Big 10 race! Stay posted! Well I am off to watch the Bachelor!

Over and out!

What a morning!

Well this morning as I was going into work I was thinking how happy I was that I actually got my butt to bed last night at a decent time so I wasn't so tired this morning...Something I am obviously not doing tonight...Anyway, I went in the normal door at work, went up the stairs, unlocked the door and turned on the lights as I usually do, typically being the first one there, Then I go into my office, where I notice that my clock radio is unplugged and then my desk caught my eye...My laptop and docking station was gone! So I took my coat off and dropped my stuff, went to a coworkers office and his was gone also...Now I am starting to freak out a bit...So I grab my keys and phones and head out to the truck, checking another office on my way out (laptop also gone). I then get in the truck and call Josh (why I don't know, I thought maybe he would calm me down, I don't know), he tells me to call the cops, but I thought I better call the office manager first...Just to make sure we weren't having any computer work done last night...We weren't. So I then called the cops...To end my happy little story, the cops came, and security and we were broken into and we had 5 laptops and docking stations stolen...All in all a fun morning :) Now I am working with an older machine with a tiny screen while I wait for my new computer...Which will then take a day to load and configure everything...Hopefully there won't be any surprises tomorrow morning!

On to a MUCH brighter note...THE BADGERS WON TONIGHT!!! Yeah!!! A much needed win and confidence booster for the fading, young, Badgers! It was a fun game to watch and they handled Indiana! Let's hope they can keep this spark alive!

On another note...I have had a very needy son lately. He wants to be either touching me or carried by me whenever I am around. I am hoping it is a phase! I know it hurts his daddy's feelings when he only wants to stay by me. And I am gone two nights next week so he is going to have to get over it in a hurry! As much as it is flattering to have him wanting to be near me all the time, I really like it that he is happy to see everyone! I guess my little boy is developing a personality! He is getting big so fast. It amazes me every day how wonderful he is! I do truly love being a mom. (just because of that I will try to post a picture...One of my favorites of when he was an itty bitty.

That's about all for tonight! I need to get to bed! Over and out! Hope you all had a great day!

My First Post

As I sit here and my husband thinks I am a dork for creating a blog, I am excited to get started! I am hoping that this is a place that I can track things that go on in mine and my family's life, share the fun times and probably vent in some of the crazy times.

To get started, I will tell you a little about myself (my name is Heather)...I am an almost 30, wife, and mother of a beautiful 14 month old boy (named Hunter). I am originally from the east side of WI but currently live south of Madison. I have 2 older brothers, which in turn gave me two great sister-in-laws and 2 nieces and 3 nephews (and one on the way)! The all live very close to me and I love it. My parents still live in Manitowoc, but will soon be moving...I am sure I will tell you more about that some other time...As I am sure there will be tears shed over the sale of my childhood home!

My husband, Josh, and I also have a beautiful white cat...Whom some people think is possessed by the devil...But we know otherwise. Her name is Little Lucifer...I mean, Joey.

I am a electrical engineer by trade and work in the consulting world. I recently switched jobs and I am enjoying the change! I work in the utility (big power) side of electrical engineering, so I work with the lines and substations that bring the power to your house.

Time that I don't spend with my little guy or at work I enjoy swimming, watching the Badgers (of which I am sure I will be venting about later), and occasionally sewing and baking.

Well I think that is about it for tonight. My husband thinks I am a geek (when in reality he is the one that has spent COUNTLESS hours playing a Star Wars Xbox game...So he can truly be a Jedi)...I think I know better!

Over and out! Hope you all had a good day!
