I paid $2.79 for "gas"

Just thought I would let you know that I am becoming accustomed to "green power" in my life outside of work (windmills)...I purchased my first tank of E-85 today. Granted the $2.79 / gallon is better then $3.09 for gas...but rumor has it isn't as good for my gas mileage...so I need to look for it in the $2.35 / gallon range. But we will see. It was kind of nice to buy gas for less the $3 when everyone else was filling up at $3!

This weekend we are headed north and it is around $1.99/gal in the fox valley! Pretty sure we will be stopping! When is the last time you can say you bought gas for less then $2??? We can also get a better gauge on what it does to our gas mileage. So far I am loving driving it! And now I am helping the environment.

Josh and I are the proud new owners of a maroon 2004 Chevy Tahoe! Little did we know we would be buying last night...but what the heck! It's not like gas prices are high :) Josh got his wish to get rid of the Alero and I got my wish of a Tahoe...so really it was a win, win! Next time you are around be sure to stop by and see the new truck! We may even give you a ride!

Swimming as meditation?

I swam this morning...as I do many mornings. I have decided that it is not only good for my physical health but it is also good for my physiological health. I think swimming is a lot like meditation...when else can you exercise with ear plugs and have the time fly by? There are many days that I will be in the pool for 40 minutes and I have thought about absolutely nothing...except count 1, 2, 3, 4, breathe...there are other mornings when I spend much of my time saying the rosary (obviously without the beads). It just really clears my head. Instead of just being exhausted after working out...I actually feel refreshed! (my legs and arms are tired too) So I guess the moral of the story is swimming is a really good workout...now if I could figure out how to get rid of the chlorine smell :)

We are off to a wedding this weekend. Should be a good time...provided everyone behaves...you know how family weddings can be! I could spend a lot of time venting right now about how a wedding is a happy occasion and the focus should be on the bride and groom are starting their life...but I think it would be wise not to! Hopefully I can get some pictures up of it after we get back!
