Spelling Important?? I don't think so...

For those of you that don't know me well, you would never guess that I am not good at spelling...but I am not. Where that originates from I don't know, but if you take a look at my dad's spelling I am beginning to think it might be genetic! Then there is the "computer generation" which enables us to have "spell checker" to check all of our work, therefore may hinder our actual spelling capability (although I can fool the best spell checker)...this would be the same thing as the "calculator generation" which would be why I can't add, subtract, multiply or divide in my head! Laziness can also play into it...due to lack of proof reading (which I am sure you have witnessed on this blog). Where am I going with this you ask??? Well I have just received the following:

fi yuo cna raed tihs, yuo hvae a sgtrane mnid too

Cna yuo raed tihs?

i cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg.
The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno't mtaetr in waht oerdr the ltteres in a wrod are, the olny iproamtnt tihng is taht the frsit and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it whotuit a pboerlm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Azanmig huh? yaeh and I awlyas tghuhot slpeling was ipmorantt! if you can raed tihs forwrad it
.

I can read this, I don't know about you...but I think it proves that I don't need to know how to spell anyway! All I need to know is the beginning ending letters of the words (still a little tricky in the English language)...so all the people who complain about my spelling and all the little and big kids that get picked on for their spelling...Here's to you! While you have been wasting your time learning how to spell...we have been outside having fun!

P.S. Don't run "spell checker" on this!
